Home Improvement
During our time in California we made multiple Target and WalMart runs to pick up items that would make our apartment in Tegucigalpa a little homier. So we purchased items like: a table cloth, Lawry's seasoning salt, two 3-lbs. jars of Skippy, 2 large jars of Nutella... and you get the idea. These are all items that can be found in Honduras but are usually a lot more money than they are in the U.S.
I bought the cutest table cloth at Target and I absolutely love what it has done to our apartment!
I was also having a serious problem with my jewelry getting all tangled up; I was keeping all my necklaces, bracelets, and earrings in the same cosmetic bag, this was resulting in me having to spend an extra 2-3 minutes everyday digging in there, finding the right piece for the day and then proceeding to untangle it. Unfortunately I was not able to bring my jewelry chest from home (that would have just been ridiculous). I also am not about to spend 1,000 lempiras on a chest here. So this is what I came up with, I know it's ghetto but it gets the job done :)
On a different note, after rooming with Katie and Aaron for 2 weeks and seeing the way Katie cooks I was inspired!
Since being back I have been on a role!!!!! Hawaiian cheeseburgers, Brazilian Coconut Chicken, Classic Waffles, Chinese chicken salad, and Veggie Stir-Fry over a bed of coconut rice!

Home
Well, we are back from a wonderful time in California. We spent time with family and friends and it couldn't have been any sweeter. Leaving was sad, but both Ben and I were excited to come back to what is temporarily our home. Thank you everyone back "home" for spending time with us, it really refreshed us and gave us the boost that we needed to make the best of these next 6 months in Honduras. We are super excited for our visitors in 2011 : Trainor in February; and Paul, Doris and Abby Camp in April.
